AbstractThe aim of this work is to get information from continuing currents of natural lightning by the means of a high speed camera. The literature presents studies using direct measurements of the channel base current in triggered-lightning flashes and electric field measurements in close natural discharges. In this work an attempt is made to analyze the evolution of the shape of the continuing currents and to obtain parameters of the M-components associated. For this purpose, we developed a software using IDL that analyses the pixels of the images obtained by the high-speed camera and plot a graphic showing luminosity versus time. It's known that the luminosity in the channel is directly proportional to the current of the lightning, which makes possible to obtain the wanted parameters.
